This particular prayer shawl is for a gay man who is an elder in a Messianic congregation in North America.  Because the Messianic movement is so small, no more details about location can be given without risking identifying the person.

The elder pays the price to serve the Lord, by remaining in the closet and remaining celibate. In his capacity as an elder, he teaches, serves on a board, fills in at the pulpit when the Messianic Rabbi is away, is part of the music team and is a prayer warrior. This elder asked that the stole be presented to help represent the work of all gay people within Messianic Jewish congregations.
