THE REV. LAURENE LAFONTAINE
Denver, Colorado

HOPE

Contribution Story

Laurene is recognized as one of the most influential leaders in More Light Presbyterian's history.  Along with Rev. Scott Anderson, Laurene presided as national Co-Moderator of Presbyterians for Lesbian and Gay Concerns during its merger with the More Light Churches Network to form today's More Light Presbyterians.  Laurene and Scott ushered in an era of greater political influence within the denomination, stronger governance, fiscal accountability and significant membership growth.  In addition to her work with More Light, Laurene was Director of Equality Colorado and has been active in LGBT politics on several fronts for many years.
