DAVID LEACHMAN
FORMER ELDER AND CAMPUS MINISTER IN THE IOWA CONFERENCE OF THE UNITED METHODIST CHURCH
David surrendered his orders in 1989 after nine years of membership in the church. He resigned in protest of the growing inability of the denomination to deal with, and now official United Methodist policy against, homosexuals in the church. He now lives in Jersey City, NJ
Contribution Story
This was one of the first United Methodist stoles we received. Along with about two dozen other UM stoles, it was included the first time we brought a display of the stoles to a Convocation of the Reconciling Ministries Network, meeting in Denton TX in 1999.
