Son of Homer and Sue Spencer

Donated by Homer and Sue Spencer to Honor their son who has left the Presbyterian Church (USA) for the Metropolitan Community Church

This stole was one of the original 80 stoles that were on display on Sept. 16, 1995 when I set aside my ordination before Heartland Presbytery (see stole #1 for details).  Homer is a retired Presbyterian minister.  Based on their own experience of searching for information after their son came out to them, Homer and his wife, Sue, co-authored the book, Finding Out: The ABC's of Same Sex Relations, to provide introductory information for parents and friends of LGBT folk.
