2017 - She was on fellowship when she attended the Sojourner Truth Leadership Circle in New York. It was sponsored by Auburn Seminary, and it focused on self-care issues relevant to Black Trans women engaged with social justice movements. Members of Glide's staff succeeded in identifying themselves with all sorts of minority groups and grass-roots urban populations - and from time to time succeeded in helping overlooked people - especially those in the Tenderloin - to participate in determining the directions the city will move.
As a result, many people - including church-goers and non-church-goers identify with Glide, ask for help, offer to help, and become an integral part of the mysterious entity everyone finds easy to call simply, "Glide."
Everywhere a person turns in San Francisco, there is someone present from Glide. The small army sometimes openly says it belongs to Glide. But often, without mentioning Glide, it quietly works to attain justice, freedom, and reconciliation in one of the most bureaucratically entangled cities in the Western World.

An account of the resource
Glide clergy like Rev. Cecil Williams and Rev. Ted McIlvenna combined with a few homosexual leaders to organize the Council on Religion and the Homosexual in 1964. This organization legitimized the effort to build gay community life under the protection of clergy. The following year (1965), the police raided a homosexual dance organized by the CRH that morally and legally was able to challenge the unjust police actions taken against the gay community. This 'Stonewall' event was the lynch-pin that started churches like Glide in San Francisco to become safe spaces for LGBTQs.

Zheng (known in early life as both Ma Sanbao and Ma He) was born around 1371 in Southwest China and later became a eunuch. His family belonged to a Muslim ethnic minority and lived in an area still controlled by Mongols after the recently toppled Yuan dynasty.
The battles marking the transition from Yuan to Ming dynasty were brutal and bloody. During one battle, Zheng (still a boy) saw his father murdered. The youth survived but was captured. It was common practice to castrate a male captive youth.
Description

Zheng, who, according to reports, was almost seven feet tall, became a towering figure in both stature and status.
Between 1405 to 1431 Zheng sailed 7 voyages in his treasure ships to many countries in Asia and East Africa. He set up trade routes 70 years before Columbus that are still used today.
Zheng, a Muslim wielding power in a mostly Buddhist society, was a man with “really modern thinking” about equality. As evidence of his mindset, Zeng left behind stone tablets in a Sri Lankan temple. The trilingual carvings on the tablets mark offerings to Buddha in Chinese, to Hindu deities in Tamil, and to Allah in Persian.
In these carvings, Yamashita sees Zheng conveying a legacy of tolerance—a message, he says, of “equal gifts for all; all gods exactly the same.”

The Latin American and Caribbean network of transgender people ( RedLacTrans) is the first regional transgender network in Latin America and the Caribbean, and was founded in 2004.
In 2021 we at RedlacTrans re-launch this campaign with the support of the Alliance for Positive Leadership (ALEP) and key populations, a project funded by the Global Fund to Fight HIV/AIDS, Tuberculosis and Malaria.

Carver was a brilliant botanist and conservation environmentalist known for his many agricultural inventions and the uplift of his race.
An urban legend places him as simply adoring or in an intimate relationship with his lab assistant, Austin W. Curtis Jr., a scientist in her own right with a specialty in chemurgy - the industrial use of plants.
The claim has garnered growing tangential 'evidence.' For example, carver's most recent and prolific biographer reports in an interview his second-hand knowledge that Carver's autopsy revealed a scar where he had been castrated. But the biographer could not place the time or circumstance when this would have occurred.
It is presumed castration could not have occurred when Carver was a child. He would not have grown tall and developed facial hair; yet, his voice was extremely high.
It is known that some transgender people, born male, have engaged in self-castration, but this theory gets no attention in the literature or memorials.
Carver could have done that and survived it given his intimate knowledge of plants useful in healing, but the reason why he might have done it is unclear. Without further evidence, he is presumed gay, but there is no proof he was gay and not trans. To keep his job at Tuskegee he would not have been able to live as a woman even if he had that inclination.
Carver also may have been celibate, except for the remembrances that he was known for massaging and roughhousing his male students.

That Curtis married twice while assisting Carver (with only a two-year mourning gap after the death of his first wife during their honeymoon) suggests that he may have been either straight or bi-sexual.
An artist, B, who imagines Carver's romantic feelings for Curtis, cites four reliable sources. Yet, it was Carver's view that neither his science nor his love life bore the import of his spirituality. He communed with God daily, if not constantly, as he was known to say.

[Shanaya] moved in with Christian couple Trevor and Judy, who worked closely with asylum seekers through the Detention Centre. The couple introduced her to the Newtown Mission church and its Pastor, Andy, who became the first friend she ever came out to.
“I said, ‘If I tell you, I think you’re going to hate me’,” Shanaya recounts.
“He said, ‘Trust me child no matter what you tell me, my love for you, Jesus’ love for you, will never go away. It will always be the same’.”
Pastor Andy remembers it well too: “I wanted Shanaya to feel supported and not condemned by her fellow Christians,” he says.
