A Homosexual Temple Holds Rites on West Side

American Hebrew Congregations,
the congregational arm
of Reform Judaism-which has
more than 700 synagogue affiliates
and more than one
million members-for membership.
If approved, the Los Angeles
congregation would receive
true identity for fear of professional
retaliation. All those interviewed
asked to be called by
their first name or by a fictitious
first name.
"This is the first time I have
felt at ease in a synagogue,"
