Skyler Keiter-Massefski grew up in South Portland and is now minister of faith formation at the South Church in Amherst, Massachusetts. On its website South Church Amherst describes itself as “an Open and Affirming, Immigrant Welcoming, [and] Green congregation of the United Church of Christ. We strive to be a church where all can seek, pray, learn, and serve together. Wherever you are on life’s journey, you are welcome here!”
This spring Skyler will be receiving their Master of Divinity degree from Yale Divinity School with concentrations in queer theology and theological anthropology. After leading youth ministry and serving as a camp counselor during Maine summers, they now enjoy their current position because it allows them to work with people of all ages. When not working or studying, Skyler enjoys hiking and skiing, bread baking, and playing board games. They live in South Hadley with their partner, Shayn, along with their four-legged companions.
