In her first year at CBST, the Rabbi took on the role of studying the synagogue rather than transforming it.

Pastoral Care 

The pastoral care burden was immense. The Rabbi saw her role as helping those with AIDS retain their humanity through their illnesses, offering the companionship of community in a context that strived to destigmatize AIDS.
