Rejects the nuclear family model because it does not apply and promotes an extended family model in which "In addition,Two Spirit/LGBT people have historically played an important role in tribal communities, including as caretakers and medicine givers. In many cases, families would ask Two Spirit/LGBT leaders for help and guidance in rearing their children. It is important that we continue to honor the wisdom that Two Spirit/LGBT people have to offer all children in our tribal communities, and it is imperative that we support the bonds that Two Spirit /LGBT parents have with their own children."
