About the Trans Zakat Project

The Trans Zakat Project strives to forge a connection between two different Muslim populations. One is comprised of the many Muslims who actually do want to support their fellow Muslims who are trans and non-binary. The other group is comprised of trans and non-binary Muslims who normally avoid or do not reach out to Muslim organizations for charitable assistance because they previously have experienced stigma and exclusion in Muslim settings.  https://www.transzakatproject.org

Black Trans Archive: We Are Here Because of Those That Are Not

You’re here reading this text because you’re curious about who we are, as trans Villa Arson students, our needs, our aspirations. You might think you know about the hardship of starting a medical transition. You might also just want to read another tearjerking miserabilist testimony about our trans existences. This is not this text. You are not our savior. You are, however, able to help balance the socio-economic power dynamic that surround us all.  https://blacktransarchive.itch.io/transarchive

Help Us Establish The CLUTCH Community Center!

Our community is vibrant, resilient, and robust, but it does not yet own the brick-and-mortar spaces it needs to commune, heal, and build. The South has the largest LGBTQ+ population in the United States – with Atlanta being a Black Queer (BlaQueer) and LGBTQ+ capital – there are no drop-in centers or shelters for queer and trans people of all ages in Atlanta. A community center like THE CLUTCH can offer safety and support for Black and brown queer and trans folks, young people, disabled folks, and others marginalized by systemic injustice and a lack of infrastructure.   http://www.southernfriedqueerpride.com/clutch-community-space
