Title

Fr. Leo censing

Description

Leo M. Joseph censes the altar during the celebration of the Eucharist in the Church of the Beloved Disciple's permanent sanctuary. The use of incense, richly colored vestments, and traditional ceremonial reflected the congregation's commitment to historic Catholic worship, demonstrating that LGBTQ affirmation and liturgical tradition could coexist within a fully sacramental community. This photograph captures the reverence and beauty that characterized the church's liturgical life during its years at 348 West 14th Street.
