Description
Members of the Church of the Beloved Disciple carry a ceremonial canopy during a Corpus Christi procession through the streets of Manhattan. Beneath the canopy, clergy bore the Blessed Sacrament in a public witness to the Real Presence of Christ, continuing a centuries-old Catholic tradition in the heart of New York's gay community. For the congregation, such processions united sacramental devotion with public visibility, proclaiming that LGBTQ Christians belonged fully within the life and worship of the Church.
