Description

A closer view of the Church of the Beloved Disciple's float during the Sixth Annual Gay Pride Day March (Gay Liberation Day) in New York City on June 29, 1975. Decorated as a processional chapel and crowned with the sign "Beloved Disciple Parish," the float featured the congregation's heraldic arms and iconography, visually expressing its Catholic sacramental identity. The individuals on the float are presently unidentified, but their white albs and distinctive crosses reflected the liturgical character of the congregation's public witness.
